Our Founder, E. Lucia (Malinowski-Wright) Berrick, was born from a lineage defined by both industry and advocacy. Her story began at Ellis Island, with ancestors who brought their dreams from Poland and Ireland to the bustling neighborhoods of Hell’s Kitchen, NY, and Harrison, NJ.

These seeds of independence were handed down through two distinct paths: the tireless service of butcher shops, candy stores, and bakeries, and the influential halls of law offices and political chambers where her Irish ancestors served as Esquires and civic leaders.

Lucia’s father, Stanley Walter Malinowski, fused these worlds of business and influence. He founded Walters Moore & Co., an advertising specialties firm, where he mentored Lucia in the tenacity, grit, and determination required to run "one's own shop" and support both firm and family. While that enterprise remained successful until his death in 1993, the lessons of hard work, customer satisfaction, and the importance of a professional reputation remained firmly embedded in Lucia’s heart and soul.

This heritage of business and law led Lucia to Babson College, the nationally ranked leader in entrepreneurial studies. In the "Babson Greenhouse," she participated in the Blank Entrepreneurial Business Plan Prize, a competition to develop viable business plans for venture capitalists.

Lucia noticed a recurring "blight" in these plans: most student teams failed because they lacked a marketing soul. They had the product, but no plan for distribution or selling to the public. Seeing the need, Lucia planted her own seed: developing the "secret sauce" of marketing, accounting, and operations analyses that turn a start-up into a winner. These presentation decks to financiers became the tilled soil upon which EL MALINOWSKI CONSULTING LLC was built.

Since 1994, EL MALINOWSKI CONSULTING LLC has brought several products to national retail markets, seeing entrepreneurial efforts expand through strategy and grit. Our "plowed fields" have yielded diverse successes, including:
