FLORIDA SALES TAX LAW CHANGES

SB2500 goes into effect on July 1, 2025 which includes: 

• Elimination of Tax on certain hurricane supplies permanently -  batteries, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, portable generators, waterproof sheeting, tie-down kits & portable gas cans.  
• Permanent exemptions for gold, silver & platinum bullion, bicycle helmets, life jackets, sunscreen & insect repellent.
• Back-to-school Tax Holiday for the month of August 
• Starts in October - Eliminating commercial rental tax.
