Lucia Berrick’s career is defined by a "refuse to lose" mentality forged through both professional excellence and profound personal resilience. A champion sailor and breast cancer survivor, Lucia’s tenacity was truly tested when she navigated life as a widow, rebounding from a farm foreclosure while raising her 12-year-old child. This lived experience transformed her into a fierce advocate for her clients; she understands that behind every balance sheet is a person, a family, or a legacy worth fighting for.

Since 1986, Lucia has been the "go-to" strategist for C-suite executives and entrepreneurs across the Construction, Real Estate, and Manufacturing sectors. With an accounting degree from Rowan University and an honors MBA from Babson College, she bridges the gap between high-level entrepreneurial vision and forensic precision. From guiding startups into venture capital successes to navigating complex 1031 exchanges, Lucia’s "roll-up-your-sleeves" work ethic ensures that no detail is overlooked and no opportunity for growth is missed.

As a licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) with over 30 years of experience, Lucia possesses the federal standing to represent taxpayers against the IRS, Treasury, and state agencies. She specializes in tax controversy and forensic accounting, often prevailing where others lack the specialized knowledge or the endurance to see the fight through. Whether she is maximizing GP or defending a client’s interests in a tax dispute, Lucia remains a tireless champion, bringing the grit of a sailor and the heart of a survivor to every case.

Champion for the Next Generation

ELMC is also giving back by championing a new generation of EAs.  Lucia is mentoring through the Florida Society of Enrolled Agents at both the state and Suncoast Chapter levels.
